As an EFL teacher, I see the immense potential AI tools bring to language learning, but their ethical use is crucial. AI can personalize learning paths, provide instant feedback, and simulate real-life conversations, making lessons more engaging and effective. However, it’s our responsibility as educators to guide students on using AI appropriately.For instance, while tools like ChatGPT can help students with grammar explanations or writing assistance, we must ensure they don’t rely on them to the point of neglecting their critical thinking and creativity. It's also essential to teach learners how to evaluate AI-generated content critically, as these tools can sometimes produce inaccuracies or culturally insensitive outputs.Privacy is another key concern. When using AI platforms, especially in younger learners' contexts, ensuring data protection and compliance with local regulations (e.g., GDPR) is non-negotiable.Lastly, we must emphasize that AI is a tool, not a substitute for human interaction. Language thrives in authentic communication, and no AI can replace the social and emotional aspects of learning a language in a classroom or community. Balancing AI’s capabilities with traditional teaching methods will lead to the most ethical and effective outcomes.

AL cannot replace live communication with students  , it is used to simplify some tasks

I think AI can be effective in using it in teaching English lessons. It can help a teacher in solving and facilitating many work tasks. For example, I use AI to compose texts for work in the lesson and it greatly simplifies my task. It is difficult to find a text that is completely suitable for your lesson topic and one that has certain grammar rules that you want to reinforce in the lesson. I make a request to compose a text with a certain vocabulary, grammar rules, language level and topic and this is much more effective than working with a text that is just a little similar to the lesson topic. AI is changing education in exciting ways. From personalized learning to automated grading, it's transforming classrooms worldwide. It has pros and cons. The advantage is with the help of AI we can make lessons more interesting and effective by using various tools. Besides it makes teacher's work easier, writing plans and making tests and tasks. But AI can not replace teachers totally, it can not show feelings and care as humans.
