However, it’s our responsibility as educators to guide students on using AI appropriately.For instance, while tools like ChatGPT can help students with grammar explanations or writing assistance, we must ensure they don’t rely on them to the point of neglecting their critical thinking and creativity. It's also essential to teach learners how to evaluate AI-generated content critically, as these tools can sometimes produce inaccuracies or culturally insensitive outputs.Privacy is another key concern. When using AI platforms, especially in younger learners' contexts, ensuring data protection and compliance with local regulations (e.g., GDPR) is non-negotiable.Lastly, we must emphasize that AI is a tool, not a substitute for human interaction. Language thrives in authentic communication, and no AI can replace the social and emotional aspects of learning a language in a classroom or community. Balancing AI’s capabilities with traditional teaching methods will lead to the most ethical and effective outcomes.
