The development of critical thinking implies the ability to solve a problem, i.e. the ability to see it, analyze it from different points of view, identify the components, consider the problem as a whole, evaluate various solutions (both your own and others') and choose the best option.

It is clear that it is easier to solve the problem if it is real, i.e. correlates with the student's own life experience. So what is it – to solve real problems in the classroom? Why not? Among the problems suitable for teaching are those related to studying various texts, analyzing situations, and conducting business games.

J. Bramsford has developed a problem-solving strategy that can be applied in working with texts and analyzing situations. This strategy is called "IDEAL".

And – Identify the problem. The problem is defined in the most general way.

I love using group brainstorming because students generate so many ideas that definitely helps shy students, especially if the issue is difficult.
Free writing method is also a good idea, but it is necessary to take certain things into account before applying in lessons.

Creative writing helps  learners to use  imagination as they create new worlds, situations, and characters in writing. Engaging the brain to 'think outside the box' enhances learners' ability to discover alternative solutions to problems and view issues from different view

To foster students' creativity in writing, I often use visual prompts like intriguing images to inspire stories or descriptions. 

I’m a teacher of both primary and secondary school students. I always try to differentiate my teaching techniques. I enjoy developing imaginative and critical thinking skills of my students. For example, “My future school”, “The future of cars”, “Life in my dream city” . These topics were given to create a project work and my students did very well. Doing projects they were able to think creatively and critically. And they are interested in doing projects.
