Under the traditional grading system, giving a low-level student an excellent grade for completing an easier assignment that doesn't meet the overall level standards is unacceptable, as this undermines the academic integrity of the assessment.
However, the goal of action research is to improve practice, not just grade assignments. I would use Alternative Assessment Models and Modified Criteria to ensure the success and motivation of every student.Instead of traditional assessments that focus only on the product, I would implement a system that evaluates process, growth, and individual excellence. In my action research, I would focus on assessing growth. If a low-level student has significantly improved their speaking skills relative to their baseline, that in itself is an excellent result.

I'd agree #natalya that rubrics should consider students' levels. And using different formats of formative assessment could be of advantage for learning. I'm wondering if there is an opportunity for low-level students to gain excellent grade if they accomplish a task within their level but lower one for the task itself?

That's good #Naz, to have even confusing findings, which means your lesson planning or instructions for self-assessment should be different to make them more motivating for students. :)

Thank you for your feedback! But we're a little confused by the survey results. The first survey showed that children like English and find it easy. From this perspective, it's a bit challenging to measure motivation. Akerke has sent the questionnaire results and these are that she can't send

Thanks for you ideas. The assessment system for English speaking skills should take into account the level of language proficiency of each student, ensuring a fair approach to all categories of students: strong, average and weak..I would like to add that students can be given a choice of 3-5 tasks of varying difficulty or format.Use point systems, tokens, badges, or leaderboards for correct answers, active participation, or helping others. Create a competitive element and provide immediate positive feedback.

Thanks, @Naz, for sharing your thoughts about raising motivation with self-and peer-assessment. Have you thought about tools to measure and gain evidences of this fact? Would it be a survey or observation notes? Have you thought about questions for the survey that will be comprehensible for your students and reveal their interest in learning? Best with your AR!
