For example of a successful lesson where my learners applied creative thinking was a project based learning activity “Creating a collection of short stories”. In this lesson pupils were asked to create their own illustrated collections of short stories, including a specific set of lexical and grammatical structures which we had covered in the unit.

Thanks a lot for sharing, absoluteley agree with you that pretending a certain character encourage students to be more engaged and practice their skills. I use storymaking for vocabulary expansion by incorporating new words and phrases in their stories.
Storymaking can be useful for developing critical thinking as well, when they think critically about their choice they make in the stories and analyze its impact.

For 3-4 graders I created rap to learn new words. At first, I found a beat on Youtube. Then I  prepared opposite  words like Yes\No, open\close, happy\sad, slow\fast, big\small, short\tall.
Here's the link of beat:

One successful project was creating a “magic city” in the classroom. Each student chose a role — from the police chief to the librarian — and used the language they had learned to communicate with the other students in character. I made a special map where the students could move, complete tasks, and earn “points.” The game not only helped them learn the language but also developed social skills and creativity.
